THANKSGIVING

an acrostic poem

Thankful for the bounty in life,

Having friends and family

And other fortune,

Notice the other guests at your table.

Kindness sets the plates and cutlery,

Serves themselves last.

Generosity, at the head of the table,

In a giving mood, as always,

Verging on indulgent for this occasion.

I hope these guests are with you always,

None more so than the guest of honor,

Gratitude, who likes to linger, even after the meal ends.
